Import PDFs directly from folders

1. Open EndNote
2. Navigate to the section PDF Handling in Preferences and select the "Enable automatic importing" check box to enable automatic importing of your PDFs.
3. Select the folder from where you want EndNote to import your PDFs into your library. Download or copy your PDF files to this folder for automatic importing and renaming.

If you are using LaTeX

You can use Endnote together with LaTeX. Follow the instructions to export your library (p. 15) but choose BibTex as your preferred export style. This will create a document which you can immediately use with LaTeX.

However, to make it easier and save time, give your references a unique identifier, ie: “@article{soderman16,”. Instead of having to recreate this every time you update your references, put your unique identifier in the field: “label” within the Endnote reference record. This will then automatically assign your preferred identifier to the record when you export it to LaTeX.

To get it to work you do need to download and install a new output style which can be found here: https://endnote.com/style_download/bibtex-export-using-en-label-field/ Save the file somewhere on your computer when you double click on the file it should open in Endnote Desktop. Press "Save as" and then you should be able to access it through "select another style" in the "Export" window.
