FAQ
Import from databases:
There is a good blog post on the Mendeley website which explains the different approaches of importing references to the Mendeley Library: https://blog.mendeley.com/2011/03/21/7-ways-to-add-documents-to-mendeley/
Managing folders:
Sorting your references into folders or adding is an excellent choice if you easily want to access similar material. It is not possible to import references directly to a specific folder in Mendeley, but it is very easy to drag and drop in the desktop version. However, there is a great blog post about folders, groups, and tags which will give you alternative approaches to organising your reference library: https://blog.mendeley.com/2011/08/11/organization-without-aggravation-quick-tips-for-managing-your-research-library/
Editing reference styles:
There is an online editor for styles, you access them through these Desktop menus: View -> Citation styles -> More styles, click the “installed styles”-tab and right-click on the style you want to edit and it will open a new browser window. You may need to play around with for a while to get it right however as it is quite a complex editor.
LaTeX and Mendeley:
Mendeley is optimised to support Word, however, there are some good tools available which may help you with the integration with LaTeX. For an excellent blog post on the topic go to: https://blog.mendeley.com/2011/10/25/howto-use-mendeley-to-create-citations-using-latex-and-bibtex/
