Suspend module
11 August 2014, 16:16
A tutor would like to use a module in the future. This module won't be running this year.
Is it better to roll it over as hidden every year until they come to use it? Or, create a backup that they are responsible for presenting when it comes time to reinstating this module? Or, can it simply be pulled out of archive whenever it needs to be?

This is in response to Hassan's query unused courses sent on 11th August...
The live QMplus environment should really be kept for active teaching, and therefore it wouldn't be appropriate to keep rolling over unused courses and keeping it on the live server.
The old course area should be available on the archive site should the academic return and want to 'resurrect' their course - however, with QMplus upgrades, there is no guarantee that an old course would be compatible with an upgraded QMplus environment years from now (depending on when the academic returns) and it may not then be possible to restore the course from the archive to the live site. However, they could refer to the old course for files/content and layout which they could then use to develop their course area when they return.
