Archive access - removing users

Hello

I have a rather unusual request on my desk.

One of the academics that we are helping has recently moved to Laws from another school. For reasons that are too long to explain, she wants me to ensure that none of the users from the previous school have access to her courses or materials, which have also been moved across. We have achieved this to some extent by simply getting all the relevant courses moved to the Laws catergory.

The question that remains is whether this can also be achieved for the archive for last year and the previous year. Is it possible to remove access to the archive version of courses for (administrative) users from the school where the courses were run in that year?

Many thanks
Helene

Dear Helene,

Without going into policies and procedures with the request, technically it is possible. However, I personally would not go in and remove users from course areas on the archive without their knowledge.

On the other hand, at the moment staff have full access to the archive as they had before the upgrade. If the staff member you refer to has access to the course area on the archive, they could remove any content that they no longer want to have available on the course by simply deleting it.

I hope this helps. If you would like to discuss further you can send me an email.

Dear Alysa

Thanks you. Understood! I have communicated as much to the relevant academic.

Best wishes,
Helene
