Enrolment Rule for Staff?

Hello all

Wondering if anyone has a QMplus course / page / site (whatever we are calling it) dedicated to staff of a particular school. If so, has anyone got a way of auto enroling the users?

Since they are not connected to a prorgamme or course like students are, I'm guessing there is not code through which they can just somehow all be enrolled. But if someone does have an answer to this which would avoid manually enrolling all the staff please do let me know!

Many thanks

It's not eactly auto enrolling but if you have a list of the members of staff on a spreadsheet, the new bulk enrolment feature on the upgraded site makes this very quick and you can unenrol too, using the same spreadsheet  if you make a mistake. You can find it under users in the settings block.

I think it's my favourite part of the upgrade!

All Maths staff have the viewer role for all Maths QMplus pages and we also have a staff intranet page for which all Maths staff have the viewer role. These roles were set up by a request to the help desk and are category enrolments. The only snag is that such enrolment only seems to work for staff in post at the time, so I need to request that they are updated to accommodate new members of staff.

Maybe School QMplus administrators can now set up such enrolment. If so, it would be useful to know.

You may find it useful to get access to ExtractService Helene. Both staff College e-mail and personal e-mail addresses are available through it. Write to iss-development@qmul.ac.uk for details on how to do this.

Hello

So the enrolment of maths users is automatic? If so where is the data feed coming from?

I will admit the ability to select groups of staff to be auto-enrolled on courses would be most useful - but as far as I know it's not currently possible.

I don't remember where the data about Maths staff comes from. It ought to come from HR, but it's possible that I provided a spreadsheet, in which case one might as well use the bulk enrolment facility if that's what the help desk would use. If I provided a spreadsheet then I probably constructed it from a SIS data extract. But HR data is SIS tends to horribly out of date!
