Turnitin report for students
24 September 2014, 13:25
Dear all,
Is it possible to...
(a) allow students to see a Turnitin report of their submission once they've uploaded it, the same one I will see?
(b) allow them to then resubmit their document once they've fixed problems identified with the help of that Turnitin report, if any?
Thanks! Luisa.

Dear Luisa,
The answer to both your questions is yes. In both cases they are settings on your Turnitin assignment.
a) Set the "Student originality reports" setting to "Yes" . They'll see the similarity index that is returned and will be able to click through to see the originality report.
b) Set the "Report generation speed" setting to "Generate reports immediately, reports can be overwritten until due date"
For re-submissions, there is a 24 hour delay on generating the similarity index and originality report. So, the first one is generated quickly but subsequent ones will be subject to a delay.

And can I also put in a plug for a session that we're running next week, "Creating and marking assignments on QMplus" where we'll cover both of the assignment types available in QMplus and how to get the most out of them.
