Metacourses

Hello
Two questions - are metacourses going to be part of QM+ going forward or will QM+ move towards cohorts?
and secondly can a metacourse be used to enroll users in two courses with different permissions ie as students in one course and teachers in another?
Many thanks

Hi Mark
1) I don't think there are any plans to stop people making use of the meta course functionality going forward. Not many people are currently making use of it though. I think whether meta courses or cohorts are best used for enrolments may depend on the particular circumstances.
2) No. The course meta link doesn't allow you to specify another role.

Hi Mark,
Just want to add that there are plans to add more 'cohort-type' enrolment functionality to QMplus, but as Gill pointed out, that isn't to replace/stop users from using the metacourse enrolment functionality.
If you wanted to have the users enrolled as a different role, you would have to manually add the other role under the 'enrolled users' section after they have been enrolled. The Teacher role would override the student role. Hope that makes sense.
