Dear colleagues,

IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT QMPLUS ASSIGNMENTS (2.2 VERSION)

Please note: The old 2.2 assignment is no longer being supported and will be removed from QMplus in the new year.

We are noticing that some staff are using their old 2.2 assignments to create new assignments. The old 2.2 assignment tool was kept on QMplus course areas for the sole purpose of allowing assignment that still had submissions due after the upgrade to still be able to use them to accept student submissions (e.g. for courses that ran through the upgrade period, or for resit students).

OLD 2.2 QMPLUS ASSIGNMENTS SHOULD NOT BE EDITED TO MAKE NEW ASSIGNMENTS.

We would not recommend that you edit any old assignment to create new assignments, as this has caused problems in the past. If you have used the old 2.2 assignment you may be caught out when we remove this old assignment from QMplus (and we can't support you if you have problems using it).

Please remove any old 2.2 assignments ASAP and create a new assignment following the below instructions:

1. Click 'Turn Editing On' button
2. Click the 'Add a resource or activity' link under the section where you want the assignment to appear
3. Select either the new 'Assignment' activity (this is the new 2.6 QMplus standard assignment) or the 'Turnitin Assignment' Activity

NOTE: You can tell that you are using an old 2.2 assignment by going to the 'edit settings' link for the assignment, where it will say 2.2 at the top - the title of that page will say 'Updating Assignment (2.2)'

Dear colleagues,

This is a reminder that we will be removing the old 2.2 QMplus assignments. This is being scheduled to take place just before the QMplus upgrade, as the 2.2 assignments are no longer supported and will break in the 2.8 version of Moodle.

Please check that you aren't using a 2.2 assignment activity in your course area (you shouldn't have been, as indicated in the message sent previously - see here for details).

You will know if it is a 2.2 assignment when you edit the assignment, as it will have (2.2) in brackets. See sample image below.

Dear Colleagues,

Last month I reminded you that we will be removing the old 2.2 assignments from QMplus as part of the upgrade.

We have been advised to upgrade old 2.2 assignments instead. The process will take some time and needs to be done in batches. We will therefore start upgrading 2.2 assignments next week Monday,  22nd June.
