Dear Colleagues,

We are working with IT Services on various pieces of development work to improve QMplus functionality. We are planning to apply these into QMplus in April and this will result in some unavoidable disruption to normal service. Please make a note of the following date for this scheduled work, which will occur during our normal at risk period:

TUESDAY, 14th APRIL 2015; BETWEEN 7-9AM

Please note that this date has been rescheduled from a previously announced date of Tuesday, 31st March 2015. This is in recognition of the fact that 31st March is during the last week of the official term time, and the 14th April is after the official term time.

For more details of what development work is being planned, please visit this webpage: http://www.elearning.capd.qmul.ac.uk/announcements/qmplus-development-201415

Best Wishes

Dear colleagues,

The updates were applied to QMplus this morning successfully. We went a little past the scheduled 9am slot and apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Please note that there are a few issues that we are aware of and are working on applying a fix soon.

Home Button:

Some of you may notice that the 'Home' button on QMplus produces an error message. If you do get an error message, please click on the 'continue' button to get to the QMplus homepage. This is because the Home button was modified to be more dynamic for students, in particular, so that when they click on 'Home' they are taken to their school specific Landing page in QMplus. Unfortunately the effect of this change means that if you do not usually go to a school specific Landing page in QMplus, the button does not automatically take you to the generic QMplus homepage. We are working on this, and have added this information to news feed on QMplus.

QMplus Login Links:

The login links at the top (and bottom) of the QMplus front page now take users directly to the University's standard shibboleth login page. This is a change, as before if you clicked on the login link you were taken to a login page which had a 'Non-standard users' Login box to the right and a 'Standard users' Login button to the left of the page. The feedback we got was that this was confusing for standard QMUL users. If you have a non-standard login to QMplus you should have received an email with instructions for how to login now, if you did not receive that email or have problems logging in, please get in touch.

Some of you may need to reflect this change in any handouts that you give to your students.

Please let us know if you discover any other issues as a result of the update applied this morning and thank you again for your patience as we work on improving QMplus.

Please pass this information on to your colleagues.

Best Wishes,

Alysa
