QMplus development
23 April 2015, 15:28
Dear Colleagues,
There is a lot of in-house development happening with QMplus this year.
Last week we added some new functionality to QMplus, but not everything we're doing made it in that release. Next week (Tuesday, 28th April) there will be more features available for you to use. And over the summer, during the annual upgrade, we plan to deploy more...
I've sent a few messages highlighting what you can expect to see, and our QMplus Development webpage is updated with the lastest information. Some items will be available to administrators only, while other features are for teaching staff as well. Below I've summarised what we are working on, and linked to guides for more information, but do check the our website for up to date information.
QMplus Development for 2015
- SITS Marks Transfer (Administrators): Transfer marks entered in QMplus to SITS
- Course Mappings Block (Administrators and Teaching staff): See which modules, programmes or year of students are being enrolled onto your QMplus course.
- Bulk upload users and groups (Administrators and Teaching staff): Previously only available to administrators, now teachers can upload a bulk of users via a spreadsheet. They can also bulk upload users into groups.
- Student ID's (Administrators and Teaching staff): Available on various screens, such as grades and enrolment screens
- Login Links (all): Users taken directly to the University standard login page
- Home button (students): The dynamic home button will take users to their personal QMplus home page (school landing pages for students)
- QMplus Media (Administrators and Teaching staff): Upload, store and stream videos to QMUL's Media Server via QMplus
- Clean URLS in Mahara Groups and Porfolios (staff and students): URLs can be chosen by their page owners
And planned for summer...
- Hidden course alerts (teachers and students)
- Topic 0 enhancement
- Rollover enhancement
- Improvement to Associate student enrolment
- Automatic course meta data updates
- More third party plugins
Don't forget to check our QMplus Development pages for up to date information.
Best Wishes,
Alysa
