QMplus upgrade next week, 11th - 13th July

Dear Colleagues,

This is a friendly reminder that next week we will be upgrading QMplus between Monday, 11th July and Wednesday 13th July.

As in previous years, the online environment will be placed in a 'restricted mode' on the morning of the 11th July. Most content will still be viewable, however, users will not be able to amend their course areas or any other aspect of QMplus. Some QMplus activities, such as Turnitin and grades, may be completely unavailable. QMplus will experience some unavoidable disruption with intermittent outages during this time, although we will try and keep any outages to a minimum.

By the end of Wednesday 13th July, the upgraded QMplus environment will be released and will be closely monitored.

Changes to Turnitin and Q-Review

This email is important for anyone who uses TURNITIN for plagiarism detection or Q-REVIEW for lecture recordings.
 
Following on from my email about the QMplus upgrade due to take place next week, please be aware of two (2) important changes, as outlined below.
 
  • CHANGES TO TURNITIN
Turnitin has been upgraded and the old Turnitin version will not be available after the QMplus upgrade. All Turnitin assignments needed after the upgrade must be created using the new Turnitin version – this new version is integrated with the standard QMplus assignment and must be enabled within the assignment settings. The new version is currently available on the live QMplus site. 
 
 
  • CHANGES TO Q-REVIEW
The 'Q-Review lecture recordings' block currently available in QMplus will not be available after the QMplus upgrade as it is no longer support by the vendor, Echo360. Q-Review lecture recordings will instead need to be accessed via a Q-Review lecture recordings link. Please see attached sample of what this will look like.
 
We have been in contact with local school QMplus administrators who are aware of this change and will be assisting us to add the Q-Review lecture recordings link to QMplus course areas. But it is important that students are also aware of this change in how to access their lecture recordings.
