Dear colleagues,

**Apologies for cross-posting**

This email contains important information about QMplus downtime scheduled for next week, as well as information about upcoming changes to QMplus.

-----------------------------------------------------------

SCHEDULED DOWNTIME – 6TH SEPTEMBER

Please be reminded that as part of the QMplus upgrade process, there is a post-upgrade update to fix any issues uncovered during the upgrade.

We will be making this update next week Tuesday, 6th September 2016 during our normal at risk time, 7-9am. This will result in some downtime and unavoidable disruption to our normal service.

A full list of all of the items that will be fixed is available on our September release page.

NEW FEATURES

We will also be introducing some new and exciting features, including a new QMplus homepage. I have attached a screenshot of the new QMplus homepage, but you can read more about it on our website at: http://www.elearning.capd.qmul.ac.uk/articles/a-new-look-homepage-for-qmplus/. It may be necessary for you to update any manuals or documentation that you have about QMplus. Please let us know if there are any questions or concerns.

Other plugins in this update include:

  1. The Sharing Cart – a block that enables sharing of QMplus content (resources, activities) between module areas. Teachers will be able to add the block to any course area and will be able to add and use content that has been added to the block on any course. Students will not see this content.
  2. The Side Bar – a block that can be used to add resources or activities that will be available to students. It allows teachers to surface important course content (such as assignments, quizzes, resources etc.) into a side block.
  3. The Questionnaire activity – an activity that allows teachers to add a survey to their course area.
  4. Reading Lists Online (Talis) - a resource where teachers can embed reading lists in topics/sections within their course area pages.
  5. WileyPlus– this is an item within the External Tool activity that allows integration with WileyPlus. WileyPlus is a research-based online environment that integrates the digital textbook with the most effective instructor and student resources...

There will shortly be more guidance on our website for the above, but please get in touch if you would like more information.

Thank you for your patience while we continue to make improvements to QMplus. Please can you pass this information on to your colleagues and students as appropriate.

Regards,

Alysa
