Removing Students...

Now we are a few weeks into the semester, I have now got around 6 students who are no longer on my module (GEG4209) according to SIS. However, they still have enrolled status on QMPLus, which means they are receiving all my emails, news etc... and I (and my colleagues) am mistakenly hounding them to undertake activities through QMPlus (and wasting valuable time following up their lack of activity). Is there any way of manually (or ideally automatically) un-enrolling these students so we are not wasting such time?

Hi Simon,

To help you with this, someone with administrator access to QMplus will need to take a look at how your module is set up, determine where the problem is and make the necessary changes.  The best thing for you to do with a technical query like this is to submit it as a helpdesk ticket to https://helpdesk.its.qmul.ac.uk so that someone can take a look.  This group is really for QMplus users to help each other out based on their own experiences.

I've submitted a query for you now.  The helpdesk will need a couple of examples of students who shouldn't have access to your module but do, so please update the ticket with this information.

Best Wishes,
Stella

Hi Stella,

I appreciate we're supposed to contact IT services but how long should we be waiting for a reply? I have all dental students - past and present - enrolled in my year 1 course. I asked IT services to look into it over a month ago and haven't had any reply. Who do we escalate these problems to?

Hi Dominic

Sorry about the long delay in getting this work done for you. It has just come to my attention and I am in the process of sorting it out for you. Should be done in half an hour. All tickets do get escalated through the system automatically, however if you have any wider concerns it is Alan Hardy who runs the helpdesk service.

Hello All,

For some reason nearly all of my students have been removed from the QMplus page (which I have just found out now that a students has contacted me with the issue).  It  seems that all of the students who  were added via the external database have been removed.

I can put them back on very easily as there are not many, however it would have been a little helpful to be warned that this may happen.

Thank you,

Kind Regards

Samantha

Dear Samantha

Yesterday afternoon there were a few unusual glitches with the enrolment mapper tool. These were put right at about 6pm. It was difficult to guage the impact of the glitch to the wider community so we went ahead and fixed the problem as quickly as we could.

There will be a communication about this situation to the wider community in the next hour.

Regards

Brett
