Editing and Deleting
16 May 2012, 12:09
In QMplus I have the editing function on, but cannot change a reading from bold and in caps to plain text and lower case. Nor can I delete a picture I put up with the week-by-week content. How do I do this?

Editing text
Within QMplus, after turning editing on you can apply formatting to text in varying amounts.
In the image below for example:-
1. The text marked with the blue arrow (Introduction Section) is a "section name". This heading text is pre-formatted (in this case CAPITALISED/bold) and cannot be changed.
2. The text marked with the red arrows (e.g. 'Testing Sub-headings - BBC news content' or 'Choice Tool Creation') is a "Label". This text is fully editable by the user.
Deleting the picture
Typically, you should have a row of 8 icons (move, indent, edit, duplicate, delete, show/hide etc.) below the picture as you can add a picture to the course page using the "Label" option from the Add a resource... drop-down menu. Examples of Labels in the image below are marked with red arrows. In these cases, you can click the red cross to delete the entire contents of the label.
However, you may only see the option to edit (e.g. circled in blue) if you added the picture via the "section summary". Editing the heading will then allow you to add or remove text/tables/pictures.

I haven't been able to delete the picture through clicking the editing symbol - I get a message saying a cut and paste option isn't available. This is a picture in the summary section of my introductory week. It will be easier if I can just delete the whole lot and start again, but there is just an editing option showing, and no deleting or cutting - although I can see in the example above Please can you advise? Thanks. You said if I send a screen shot you can then give a specific answer - what is a screen shot?

Dear Isabel,
You are very close to solving this problem.
You are correct to click on the "edit" symbol to access the picture in the summary section. Follwing this, you just need to click on the image, press the delete key on the keyboard and save the changes.
What is a screenshot?
A screenshot is an image of your computer display. By pressing the "print screen" key (sometimes this is shortened to:- Prt Scrn), a copy of this image is temperarily stored.
You can then Paste this image into a program (e.g. Microsoft Paint), save the image and then share this with others (e.g. attach to an e-mail or insert into a forum reply).
