Hello all

We are plannning to do some enhancements to the Module Info block to make it easier to edit and to incorporate the new Smart timetable link for the module.

I have collated the requirements into a word doc that I have uploaded to the files area here in the group along with the original spec.

I would welcome any comments about the requirements and the design of the block.

 Regards

 Brett

Thanks for your proposal. I have a few comments about the details on the last page.

I don't like the term "Module Owner". (I regard modules as being owned by the College or by Schools.) I would prefer organiser, coordinator or convenor in the labels for the form fields.

I don't understand what the last part, "Enable Module section", is for. Maybe it needs an example. I found the examples earlier on this page very helpful.

Otherwise this all looks good.

Best wishes, Francis

Hi Francis

Thanks for this feedback

1.  I was looking for the heading of a field that would allow you to choose one of those titles or another if you wished so perhaps checkboxes would be more appropriate.

2. Enable 'Module docs' section would essentially turn on the bottom part of the block where the user could add a URL link or upload a handbook or other file taht they would like prominently displayed near the top of the page. The EECS and Politics examples are employing this part of the block in its current form.

Once again..thanks for the feedback.

Regards

Brett

1. Could this be fixed for each School, by agreement, so that for all Maths modules the word used would be "organiser", whereas School XXX might use the word "convenor" for all its modules? Otherwise, checkboxes would be fine (provided "organiser" is one of the options). Either of these approaches would have the advantage of avoiding a free-for-all, which would be allowed by a free-text box.

2. Now I understand, and what you propose makes sense. Being able to turn off the 'Module docs' section is probably better than needing to delete it or comment it out, as at present.

Thanks, Francis
