Hello,

I wondered if anybody knows how to obtain detailed information about a student's activity.

I know that I can use the Logs tool and then select the student of interest and leave the various shown dropdown menus with selected options to include all actions on all days.

However, the level of detail shown for the steps relating to submitting an assignment  file seem to only go so far as showing information that includes the action as "assignment upload", which is given as a link. Clicking this link just seems to bring you to the previously set description of the assignment. So it appears that there is no individual confirmation by the Logs tool of whether the file was actually submitted/recorded by the system for the specific student.

Getting detailed student tracking information (to the level I would like to :-)) used to be possible with Blackboard. So I just wondered if I'm missing something or whether there is a better way of getting this data.

We have had cases of students telling us that they have successfully submitted their assignment and yet, we cannot tell with certainty - from the logs as described above - whether that is indeed the case and thus, whether to allow an assignment extension for such students.

Thanks for your question and further information provided during our telpehone conversation on the level of detail you feel would be useful.

To update the forum for any other users who are interested, at the moment we are not able to obtain more detailed reports than this, however we are currently reviewing the options that are available to allow more detailed reports to be provided and hope to be able to provide more information on this topic when the options have been considered.
