Dear Brett et al

Thanks for the new Module Info block, which is a decent improvement on what we had before.

I have one problem to report, and a couple of observations / requests.

PROBLEM: The 'Semester' field in the scripted top section is not always accurate. It appears to grab the letter 'A' or 'B' from the MySIS module code (e.g. 'A' from ESH100-A13 /  'B' from ESH999-B13). The problem here is that the letter refers to the semester start rather than duration; so 'A13' is used both for modules than run their entire course in Semester A, and that run across Semesters A and B. In MySIS the students typically see a 'Period' for each module, that is written 'SEM1', 'SEM2', or 'YEAR' (SEM1 and YEAR both use 'A' codes, SEM2 uses 'B' codes). Replicating the MySIS Period would make more sense to me in the Module Info block.

OBSERVATIONS / REQUESTS:

(1) It would be nice (for our School) to have an option to include information (or links to information) about a module convenor's office hours.

(2) We don't have an obvious use for 'Documents' across the School, and it would be good to have a Show/Hide check box for this <div> in the configuration screen.

(3) It would be useful to be able to provide a custom title for 'Additional Content', and perhaps even to add further 'Additional Content' HTML boxes underneath via the Configuration interface.

(4) We would also have use for an on/off check box to link to the Course's 'Participants' screen in QMplus under 'Schedule'.

At the moment we'll probably aim to achieve some of this ourselves via client side scripting (though without breaching the spirit/design of the Module Info block), but perhaps some of it could be considered for future updates?

Best wishes,

Richard

Just to note that we're having problems with the Module Info Block in a couple of Courses where the Module Owner heading and info isn't displaying -- whether or not we use a custom header, and/or the email over-ride function.

They are:

I'll raise a helpdesk ticket though I'm not confident about getting a result that way at present. Thought I'd make this public in case anyone else has encountered the problem.

Best,

Richard

We have also encountered the same problem as Richard with some of our modules.  A case in point is HST6331, which we have raised a helpdesk ticket for (no ticket number as yet).

Hi

Just to note that deleting and re-adding the block fixed the issue for Richard's courses. Updated the ticket (#127924)

Also, fixed the issue for Chris by correcting the QMpluse Course ID which was still set to 2012/13.

Best

David
