QMplus Questions and Answers /
Deleting all the entries on a news forum

19 September 2013, 19:39

Hi There,

I apologize as we have probably already  been told at some point how to do this (but I don't seem to be able to find the info). How can I easily delete all the entries from last year on my news forum?

Thanks

Nathalie

Hi Nathalie

Good question! The answer is surprisingly simple. The News forum is a particular type of Forum in a course area so check in the settings that the type of forum says 'News forum'. (under the name at the top of the settings screen)..if it does then deleting the content is easy. Moodle likes having a News forum and so all you will need to do is delete the existing forum then refresh the page. Hey presto a brand new News forum will appear.

You will probably need to move it back to the appropriate place if you had other content in topic zero and rename it if it is called Module announcements (settings).

Regards

Brett
