I ran a QMplus quiz session last week and quite sensibly, the question of the best way of getting quiz questions into QMplus came up.  The QMplus interface for entering questions can be quite laborious.  There are a variety of ways "out there" to import questions into QMplus (or Moodle as it is underneath) including word templates with macros, or hints on creating questions in text files using specific formats.  These are often quite complicated (especially for the lay user) and error prone.

I'd like to know if there's anyone out there who's found a reliable method for importing questions into QMplus.  Could you share your experience?

Thanks

Gill

This doesn't entirely answer the question but if I wanted to upload a lot of quizzes to QMplus I would consider developing a "user script" to facilitate it. A user script is a JavaScript file that can be used to enhance a web page. When using Firefox this requires the Greasemonkey add-on but I think that Chrome provides built-in support; I've only used user scripts with Firefox. I am developing a user script to upload marks to web forms that don't offer upload, which I use primarily with our departmental databases but I've also used it with MySIS (which is sometimes easier even though MySIS does offer upload).

A few years ago I managed a project to convert TeX-based exam questions into Blackboard quizzes and the guy who did the work developed a user script to upload the quizzes. So this approach might also work in QMplus.
