1. Why did we choose this sample?

During the process of picking the sample, some suggestions were given by the tutor. Beta-TCP was chosen as the final sample since the tutor has studied beta-TCP for many years and has done several experiments testing the relative properties of this material in medical applications, which allow us to have more access to further understanding of beta-TCP.

2. What we have learnt?

When designing the website, QMPlus Hub was used as the platform of the webpage. After exploring each function of those bottoms on QMPlus Hub, the process of designing a website on QMPlus Hub was clear. When doing this project, every group member had a deeper understanding of the properties of beta-TCP, the manufacturing process of beta-TCP and the applications of beta-TCP, etc. Besides, we knew better about how to design a nice layout. Also, skills such as collecting and organising information had been strengthened.

 3. What went well?

We have a reasonable and flexible time schedule and it went smoothly. During the group meeting, every member showed his or her work processing, which was given from the previous meeting. Afterwards, based on the word we have done, and the stage deadline, members discussed together to make some changes in our overall timetable and distribute further tasks to each individual. Moreover, every time there was a discussion, lots of new ideas about creating the webpage would be brought forward and there would be an ardent but polite debate about what we had done. When engaging in such a discussion, these skills like teamwork, time management skill, organization skill, and communication skill could all be improved.

4. About the journey

When there was a group meeting, the group recorder would be allocated to write down the main things happened during the meeting. At the end of the meeting, the meeting recorder would organize those notes and upload them on the QMPlus Hub.

5. Reflection about the whole project and what would we do differently?

When designing the webpage, an overall page that has all links to other pages was created. On this page, there was a video made by our group members ourselves introducing “what beta-TCP is” to the audience. It helps people who are browsing this webpage easily know this material and attracts their attention.On other different pages, detail information of beta-TCP such as manufacturing, process and properties of beta-TCP were shown. However, these sections sometimes could be hard to understand for those people who do not have background knowledge in material science or biomedical fields.

Maybe next time, using more simple words and adding more vivid pictures would help describe beta-TCP much better, so that people can understand this sample deeper and easier.
