Gas phase method:

1.The main steps of gas-phase method: Chemical vapor synthesis (CVS):

Within the reactor system, heating Mg metal particles in a ceramic crucible to 913 K leads to sublimation and ensures a sufficiently high metal vapor pressure, and triggers a highly exothermic reaction in the presence of oxygen at a fixed position, forming uniform MgO particles

2.Fuel supply method: Flame spray pyrolysis (FSP):

The liquid fuel mixture is passed through the nozzle by an injection pump at a constant flow rate. At the nozzle outlet, the liquid feed is dispersed into fine droplets of oxygen supplied through the rod at the tip of the nozzle. Misty fuel is converted from CH4 and O2 combustion into oxide monomers and volatile byproducts.

3.Then, in the reactor, adjust specific reaction conditions (temperature, pressure, gas ratio, etc.) to make magnesium source raw materials such as magnesium oxide react with other gases to generate gaseous intermediates or reaction products of magnesium. These reaction products will deposit on the surface of the substrate under appropriate conditions, forming a fused magnesium oxide film or powder, which is achieved through chemical vapor deposition.

4.On this basis, post-treatment such as annealing, crystallization, and heat treatment can be carried out on the deposited fused magnesium oxide to improve its crystallinity, density, and stability. Ultimately, it is necessary to conduct quality testing and analysis on the prepared magnesium oxide to ensure that the product meets the specified standards and requirements, and to obtain the final magnesium oxide product.

Due to its strong adsorption performance and high recycling rate, fused magnesia can be used as a sewage treatment agent to remove heavy metal ions, organic pollutants, etc. from water, which helps improve water quality and protect the environment;
