Plastic shopping bags are consumables in daily life, and the world consumes a large amount of plastic shopping bags every year. Plastic shopping bags not only provide convenience for consumers, but also cause serious energy, resource waste, and environmental pollution due to overuse and inadequate recycling. Especially traditional non degradable plastic shopping bags are prone to damage and are often discarded indiscriminately, becoming the main source of "white pollution".[1]

With the increasing awareness of environmental protection, countries around the world have gradually restricted the production and use of non degradable plastic bags in the past decade.Worldwide obstacles such as the global plastic waste management issue, environmental pollution, and exhaustion of resources have recently been receiving international attention for sustainable strategies including zero-waste practices, sustainable circular economy, and climate-neutral models (Gatto and Re, 2021). Intercontinental agendas such as the United Nation Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Framework of Action on Marine Debris, and European Union Circular Economy Action Plan (CEAP) have been implemented to promote sustainable economy and environment (Amadei et al., 2022; Walker et al., 2021).
