Many thanks to Lawal and Manoj for presenting at last Thursdays Learning Technologist meeting.

Manoj talked about Echo 5 (Q-Review upgrade from Echo 4) which will be in place for the next academic year. It does contain many advanced features however these rely on authentication which is something we currently don’t have and it is unclear if and when we will have it.

The administration interface is very similar to before however, end users will see that the previous way of presenting recordings – in weeks has now been replaced by a simple list (with no reference to weeks).

There is a new archiving and deletion policy. Recordings will be kept for two years after which they will be deleted, however the tutor will be notified in advance with the option of keeping the recording indefinitely if required.  

Lawal talked about Groups and Portfolios and the work that he and Brett are doing with Dentistry. His hand-out has been uploaded to the group area and is available via the files tab (in the Groups and Portfolio folder).
