About me
I work as an e-Learning Advisor as part of Queen Mary’s e-Learning Unit. My main focus is the QMplus migration project which involves the move away from Blackboard and in-house web pages to Moodle. We care currently working with Science and Engineering and MBBS. I am responsible for organising the QM Learning Technologist Group which meets on the last Thursday of the month. We look at different ways technology is being used in the various faculties across the University and beyond.

Using a HTML block in QMplus to enable staff to access their emails. I added a block to: http://qmplus.qmul.ac.uk/course/view.php?id=3117 and put the link: http://webmail.qmul.ac.uk into the block. Because people are authenticated on log-in to QMplus they can access their emails directly without having logging in again.

Gill from the ELU created an online resouce which looks at the benefits of upgrading to Moodle 2.4: http://www.scoop.it/t/what-will-moodle-2-4-get-us. This was shown at a recent Learning Technologists Group meeting and is a good starting point for anyone interested in the Moodle upgrade.

Dipity is a great site for creating timelines. It is increadably easy to use and the link can be added to QMplus: http://www.dipity.com/timmorgan02/places-I-have-lived-in/

I am looking forward to a potential visit Gdańsk University of Technology in June. This would be a great opportunity to share ideas, deliver some e-Learning training to Polish tutors and look at the possible future joint funded European projects.
