Processing
Typically, graphene can be made in CVD method, which is using transition metal as catalyze and reaction base to anchoring carbon molecules.
To process a graphene material, forming is only the first step. The following operation is to seperate target production and catalyze, as the graph shows above.
Forming
This graph is the equipment for graphene to grow. Catalyze metal foil is set in the reaction furnace first, also with protective gas such as nitrogen. Then start the oven and raise temprature to 1000 degree, remains this condition 20 min. After the time, stop the supply of nitrogen, give in carbon source gas instead. With 30 min reaction time, stop heating and give in nitrogen again, then take metal foil out. Graphene will form on the surface of foil.
The whole routing can be concluded as:
Seperating
Seperate graphene from catalyze foil is also an important route to focus, for this step determines the integrity and yield of graphene. Here will introduce two of main methods.
-
Wet chemical etching method
This method is using chemicals to attach graphene, then corrode metal foil base to seperate.
-
Mechanical stripping method
Use the reaction force between epoxy resin and grapene to tear whole graphene silce down, to achieve the target of none-pollution of graphene.
