Where does the sample come from?

This cigarette filter sample is provided by a company named China Tobacco Sichuan Industrial, CO., LTD. (figure 3)This sample can only be used for display, any commercial use is not permitted.

Sample shape

To promote the acknowledgement of how a cigarette is made to more people, this sample is made into longer shape compared with the normal size used in the cigarette. It has the same material components as real cigarette filters. This sample shows one of cellulose acetate’s main applications in the world.

Inside of the sample

This sample shows in figures of sample is parcelled by a piece of paper to make into the cylinder shape, we tore the outer paper and drag out the cellulose acetate inside. This material used in the cigarette filter is combined by numerous cellulose acetate fibres when pulling a small beam of fibres, you can feel it is quite pliable. But if you add a shear force to it, it is easy to break into two pieces.
