Reflection

Nichrome has a lot of usage since it has a good dynamic property. It also performs well in corrosion test due to the chrome element. The reason why we choose nichrome as our material is that we were interested in nuclear reactor, which is the energy creator that will wildly used in the future. The nuclear reactor and nuclear bomb have same basic reaction principle, and the energy in the reactor is also much higher than common imaginations. What materials are used in the nuclear reactor so that it can hold such an extreme pressure and heat inside? The answer is nichrome. Nichrome and stainless steel make up almost the whole nuclear reactor. Fortunately, we obtained the nichrome sample and several suggestions from China Institute of Atomic Energy.

Arranging this webpage teaches us a lot. We were confused about how to get the nichrome sample and nearly switched to other materials that may be easy to acquire. Sending an e-mail to the China Institute of Atomic Energy is the most correct and important decision we made during the whole process. The chance is somehow depended on oneself. Besides, the second meaningful decision is to display all the three sample we get. Through three samples is a bit more to establish library webpage for, we still managed to summarize them with several similar properties and arranged. That can be considered as the most difficult part we did.

The team working also taught us about how to work as colleagues. As a team of students in the past tasks we only need to do the different part of work, but as colleagues it requires to confirm the process and deadline of each part of work clearly. With the journey we partly made that, but to be honest, there were several times overdue problems and we have to have an emergency meeting to fix out again, which will cause a lot of issues in real work life.
